i would try to watch out for danger at work when using cemicals

I always confront my manager when I have safety concerns or questions regarding the equipment at my job. One of the first things I raised my hand about, was how to use the bread slicer. It was never explained to me and I was uncomfortable using it without the proper safety instructions. So I raised my hand and asked my manager to set aside some time one morning before my shift to show me how.

I work as a Tire Installer at a tire shop. We have an inflation cage in the shop, which is intended to increase worker safety by containing a tire if it explodes, however I noticed that none of the employees were using this cage to inflate the tires. As the dept. safety rep, I called a meeting of employees and did a presentation on what the cage was for, and when we should use it.

"Being new at this job, will I be trained to do each task the proper & safe way before I'm left to it ? "

you could speak out to the employer about anything you think is unsafe or not in the right context. you could also talk about a saftey plan that all the employees would have to follow.

Ask for assistance when using the ladder or fixing building issues

if there is a problum tell your boss and work it out
Colter J
If you see something, then say something. Never feel stupid for asking a question or pointing something out. If your unsure about anything you could ask a supervisor, co-worker or a tradesman. Nobody at work wants to see anyone get hurt and everyone wants to go home safely. There is no such thing as a stupid question before doing a job or working on something.

Making sure I am physically legible to do the job, and if my job/position requires to put myself in danger, I will refuse, and tell my boss that I demand to have a safer workplace, otherwise I will not work, and even protest to make changes to ensure future workers' safety.
Kevin G
Just because they are your boss they have no right to hurt you or put you in danger in away just because you refuse does not mean your a bad worker you have to be smart and not think just because they are your boss that you dont have a right
Ishvar S
React when there is still time. You don’t want to be the person saying “Only if I had raised this issue with my boss” and thats only if your lucky.
